Data Deletion Policy

You can permanently delete your personal data from Shelf Talk AI Reads at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted, and what may be retained.

1. How to Request Deletion

You have two options:

1. In-app (fastest): Go to Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account. Confirm by typing DELETE and re-entering your password.
2. By email: Send a deletion request from the email address associated with your account to info@aalbertmemories.com. We will verify your identity before acting.

2. What Gets Deleted

• Your account, authentication record, and password hash.
• Profile, avatar, bio, preferences, taste-quiz answers, connected accounts.
• Shelves, reading progress, bookmarks, and personal library uploads.
• Reviews, posts, comments, quotes, stories, and journal entries.
• AI conversation history and personalized recommendation caches.
• Notifications, follows, friend requests, and club memberships.

3. What May Be Retained

• Summaries of policy violations and safety actions (up to 24 months) to prevent evasion.
• Records required by law (tax, financial, safety) for the minimum period required.
• Aggregated, de-identified analytics that cannot be linked back to you.
• Encrypted backups until they age out on our normal rotation (within 90 days).

4. Third-Party Services

Deletion in our systems does not delete data held by external platforms you connected (Kindle, Audible, Spotify, Libby, etc.). To delete data held by those services, contact them directly.

5. Timing

Active-system deletion is immediate. Full erasure across backups completes within 90 days.
