Shelf Talk AI Reads uses artificial intelligence for recommendations, chat ("Litty"), summaries, and moderation signals. This disclaimer explains its limits.

1. AI Output Is Not Advice

AI responses are generated by statistical models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or misleading. Do not rely on AI output for legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice. Always verify important information with a qualified source.

2. Hallucinations

AI can invent facts, quotes, plot points, book titles, or authors that don't exist. Treat AI output as a starting point, not a source of truth.

3. Bias

AI models can reflect biases in their training data. We work to mitigate this but cannot guarantee bias-free output.

4. How We Use Your Prompts

Prompts you submit to our AI features are processed by third-party AI providers under contractual data-protection terms. Providers do not use your inputs to train public models on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our AI features to generate content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy or Community Guidelines, including illegal content, harassment, or content that impersonates real people without consent.

6. Human Oversight

AI-assisted moderation flags content for human review. Enforcement decisions are made by our moderation team, not by AI alone. You may appeal any action via the Appeals page.
